Dot Off Dot Screen Printing with RGBW Reflective Inks

Recent advances in pigment production resulted the possibility to print with RGBW primaries instead of CMYK and performing additive color mixing printing. The pigments studied this work have properties structural colors, as primary colors are a result interference thin film coating mica pigments. In work, we investigate angle-dependent gamut primaries. We elucidated optimal angles illumination observation for each ink found angle under diffuse illumination. investigated dot off halftoned screen printing inks on black paper terms gain. Based our observations, viewing condition given is direction around 30∘ surface normal. Here, appearance resulting prints can be estimated well by Neugebauer formula (weighted averaging individual reflected spectra). Despite negative physical gain during printing, observe angularly dependent positive optical prints. Application 2.5D 3D not fully explored due technological limitations. provide colorimetric data efficient application such practical applications.
